When to use Trianum-G?
Trianum-G protects plants against a range of soil-borne root diseases through several different modes of action. It also improves root system development, nutrient uptake and plant growth. Trianum-G can be used in most crops.
How does Trianum-G work?
The mode of action of Trianum-G is based on the following mechanisms:
Competition for space
Trianum-G grows faster on the surface of the root than other soil-borne fungi. Other fungi get less chance to establish on the roots.
Competition for nutrients
Trianum-G takes away the source of nutrients that the pathogens need. The pathogens therefore have less chance to develop.
Parasitism of pathogens
Trianum-G grows around the mycelia of the pathogens. The cell walls of the pathogens break down and the pathogens die.
Strengthening of the plant
Trianum-G improves the root system through the formation of more root hairs, so that water and nutrients can be taken up better. This leads to a stronger and more uniform crop and better yields. This effect is stronger when the plant is under stress and/or cultivated under less than optimum growing conditions. Trianum-G also reinforces the defence mechanism of the parts of the plant above ground, the so-called induced systemic resistance (ISR). Trianum-G has the capacity to make certain "fixed" nutrients such as manganese and iron available for the plant to take-up.
Application
Trianum-G can be mixed with the substrate or spread on the soil or in the furrow.
Mixing with substrate:
Make sure Trianum-G is uniformly mixed with the substrate.
Application on soil:
Do not apply this product as a broadcast application. Cover applied product with soil or otherwise incorporate it into the soil. In case of mechanical application with a granule spreader, the spreader's exit hole should be as close to the soil as possible to prevent wind blowing away the small granules. Make sure that the Trianum-G granules flow smoothly through the tube system of the spreaders (avoid curves in the tubes).
Use a dosage spoon for manual application to ensure uniform application.
Handling
Storage time after receipt: See package for expiry date.
Storage temperature: 4-8ºC/39-46ºF.
Storage conditions: Keep away from direct sunlight.
Dosage
- The dosage of Trianum-G depends on the crop and should always be adjusted to the particular situation. Check the label to find the recommended dosage for each crop and situation.
- Application rates typically range from 10-50 kg/ha, 1-10 kg/1000 plants or 375-750 gram/m3 of growing substrate.
- Consult a Koppert advisor or a recognized distributor of Koppert products for advice on the best strategy for your situation.
Timing: Apply as early as possible in the crop cycle.
